NewScientist has presented their year-end video round-up about robots. While some robo-efforts are inspired by nature or attempt to mimic natural behavior, many of these experiments actually fuse biological and technological systems.
Something to look for in stores next Christmas--the cyborg insect. Electronics controls their behaviour by interfacing with their nerves. The research is funded by the US defense research agency DARPA, which imagines future cyborg spies, according to NewScientists.
